The Spuistraat (en = drainage-street), former know as the Nieuwezijds Achterburgwal, has several sexworkers-windows at the beginning, near the Central Station.
At this street are plenty of restaurants, bars, coffeeshops, hotels, souvenirshops and more.
A nice diner at a terrace is possible when the temperature is right!
This street is part of the main route around the centre of Amsterdam and a lot of cars, busses a.s.o. drive through here. The Dominicus church, build bij Abraham Cuypers, is here too.
The app. 20 windows are located close upon eachother around the Korte Kolksteeg and the Korte Lijnbaanssteeg. You can find them in the basements and stacked upon eachother, as you see at the picture on the left. In this street sexworkers (and transsexuals) of all ages, ethnicity and sizes.
It’s not been resolved yet what’s going to happen with these windows due the new regulations but the seems to stay open. As you can see at the picture; the buildings are recently renovated and ready for another 100 years!
At this street is a special 2 Gay-sexshop with all kind of souvenirs and knickknacks and a gay-movie theatre.
